Kiwi is rich in Potassium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, roughage and trace minerals. It also has more vitamin C in comparison to any other fruit. Having a large number of vitamins makes it the best mean to defence against microbes. It also reduces the risk for thrombosis and ensures good digestion and regular intestine function. Finally, it contributes to vision improvement thanks to the antioxidant lutein it contains.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Provision

Kiwi provision possibility starts with the beginning of the harvest in mid October and its duration can last up to May 30th.

The green colour indicates the harvest period and the red colour indicates the preservation period.

The cultivated  type of kiwi is Hayward clone . Havetsis Fruits has succeeded to produce through some experimenting  in the estate, and in cooperation with several sectors –in the framework of the complete management- bigger sizes and sweeter tasting kiwi, with fruit of higher nutrition than the typical fruit of Hayward clone 8. All this was utilized with the protection of the anti-hailstone net which covers the entire estate.

Preservation tips for the consumer:
Kiwi can be preserved in a refrigerator  for about four weeks. If you want them to ripen, you can put them in a bag-preferably a paper bag - along with a banana or an apple for one or two days.
